VENUE: The Shed, Lions Youth Haven, Kambah.
COST: $230
Some experience required: this is not an intended to be an introduction to woodturning.

This workshop helps you turn boxes with suction-fit lids —it takes you through Ch.4 in Turning Boxes. How many you complete will depend on how familiar you are with the process. The basic concept will be simplified or complicated to suit then push your skill level.

Tools: ¾-in or 20mm skew chisel, ½-in spindle gouge, 3/8-in spindle or detail gouge, 13mm and/or 20mm square-end scraper, ¾-in round-nose scraper, parting tool. If you intend turning a lot of boxes, a ½-in bedan is a good investment. (Guild tools and safety gear will be available, but it’s best to bring your own.)

Blanks: Can be purchased from ACTWG or bring well-seasoned blanks 50mm – 100mm square, up to 250mm long with the grain running the length of the blank.

Morning & afternoon tea provided, but bring your own lunch.
